The Toyota 5E-FE is a 1497 cc DOHC inline four with multipoint injection. The 5E-FE is naturally aspirated and drives its cams by belt, not chain. Toyota built it from 1991 into the late 1990s for the Tercel and Paseo. It is the long stroke 1.5 of the E series, sharing the 74 mm bore of the 4E-FE. 5E-FE VRS and full gasket sets
A KP full gasket set is listed, along with two KP VRS sets. One VRS set covers 1991 to 1995 builds and the other covers 1995 onwards. Toyota changed the specification partway through the run, so date your engine before ordering. A VRS set covers the head and rocker cover, while the full set adds the bottom end gaskets.
5E-FE pistons and rings
A piston and ring set is listed in 0.5 mm oversize. A separate ring set covers both the 5E-FE and the 1331 cc 4E-FE. Both run the same 74 mm bore, which is why one ring pack suits the pair. Check the oversize stamped on your old pistons before ordering.
