The Volkswagen BKD is a 2.0 litre TDI four cylinder with 16 valves on twin overhead camshafts. The BKD is turbocharged and runs unit injectors, not a common rail. Volkswagen and Audi built it from 2003 to 2008. Our stock is filed under Golf, Polo and Passat, taking in the Golf Mk5 and Passat B6. Cylinder head sealing work accounts for all 3 parts listed against the BKD.
BKD head gasket and VRS set
The head gasket listed is a 1.71mm item, and these engines take one of several thicknesses. Piston protrusion decides which one, so count the notches on the gasket you pull off before ordering. The VRS set is boxed for the BKD and the BKP, a closely related 2.0 litre TDI code.
BKD head bolts
The bolt set is boxed for the BKD and BKP along with the CAAC, CAGA, CCHA and CDBA codes. These are stretch bolts, so fit new ones and do not reuse the old set with a fresh gasket.
What else the BKD page covers
The BKD drives its camshafts by belt, and no timing kit or water pump is listed under this code. Everything filed here is cylinder head sealing hardware.
