The Nissan L24 is a 2.4 litre inline six, single overhead cam, 12 valves. The L24 is naturally aspirated and carburetted, and it uses a timing chain, not a belt. Nissan built it from 1971 to the early 1980s for the Datsun 240Z and the Skyline C110. The L series listings here are also filed under the Patrol MQ and MK (160).Our L24 stock runs to 5 parts.
Bearing and ring sets
Main bearings, conrod bearings and a ring set in 1mm oversize are listed here. The bearing sets are multi fit across L20, L24, L26 and L28, but the ring set is not. The L24 has an 83mm bore against the 86mm bore of the 2.8 litre L28. Order undersize bearings to the grind on your crank, not to the engine code.
Rocker cover and extractor gaskets
A Permaseal rocker cover gasket covers L20A, L24, L24E, L26, L28 and L28E. There is also an extractor gasket for the six cylinder 240C, K and Z models.
Timing chain parts and other L24 lines
A timing chain guide is listed for the L16, L24 and L28. The injected L24E is the same 2.4 litre engine with EFI in place of the carburettor.
