The LS7 is GM’s 7.0 litre petrol V8, 7008cc, pushrod with 16 valves, naturally aspirated, port injected and dry sumped. It has a 104.8mm bore and 101.6mm stroke against the 6.2 litre LS3’s 103.25mm and 92mm. GM fitted it to the C6 Corvette Z06 from 2006 and the Camaro Z/28; here it came only in the HSV W427.We keep 16 parts for the LS7 here.
LS7 valve springs, valves, lifters and trunnions
NVP and Crow Cams dual valve spring sets rated to .660 inch lift, a hollow stem 2.200 inch inlet valve set to replace the factory titanium inlets, genuine gold clip lifters and a rocker arm trunnion upgrade set. Springs, lifters and trunnions carry the LS1, LS2 and LS3 as well; the valves, head gasket and crank are LS7 only.
LS7 head gasket and head bolts
An NVP MLS head gasket at 4.150 inch bore and .051 inch thick for the LS7’s 4.125 inch bore, and a head bolt set shared with the late LS1, LS2 and LS3. A 6.2 gasket is cut smaller and hangs into a 7.0 bore, so match the gasket bore to the block, not the part list.
Crankshaft, bearings and timing sets
A Callies Compstar eight counterweight crank, LS7 nose, 4.0 inch stroke, NVP main and conrod bearing sets, and Crow Cams single and double row timing sets. The LS7 runs a timing chain, not a belt.
