Mazda B3 Engine Parts

The Mazda B3 is the 1.3 litre B family four: 1,323cc on a 71mm bore and 83.6mm stroke, single overhead cam with 8 or 16 valves, naturally aspirated, carburetted or injected by year. Mazda built it from 1987 into the early 2000s for the 121 DA/DB and 323 BF/BG. The B6 is the same family at 1.6 litres, 78mm bore.We keep 16 parts for the Mazda B3 here.

B3 head gaskets

Permaseal and NVP head gaskets, one for the 8 valve head and one for the 16 valve. They are not the same gasket, and both heads are single cam and look alike from outside, so pull the rocker cover and count the valves before ordering.

B3 pistons, rings and bearings

An NVP 8V piston set at 1mm oversize, NPR and standard ring sets, NDC main and conrod bearings and thrust washers. The mains and thrust washers are boxed for the B3, B5, B6 and BP together, so many listings sit on more than one Mazda page.

Water pump, oil pump and belt tensioner

An NPW water pump and an NVP oil pump listed across the B3, B5 and B6, and a belt tensioner for the SOHC engines. The B3 runs a timing belt, not a chain.
