The Holden X20SE is a 1,998 cc inline four from Opel’s Family II line. The X20SE is SOHC with eight valves, fuel injected and naturally aspirated. Opel built it in the late 1990s. Willys files these parts under Astra and Vectra, with the Vectra JS 2.0 on record as the fitment. The X20SE has 5 parts on this page, three of them shared with other Family II codes.
VRS gasket set and head bolts
An NVP VRS gasket set is boxed for the X20SE as a 2.0 four cylinder, eight valve EFI engine. The head bolt set beside it spans the C20NE, C22NE and Y24SE. It also carries the 1.6 and 1.8 litre 16JH, 16LF, 18JC and 18JU. That set covers a lot of ground, so check the length and thread of the bolts you take out against it before fitting.
Water pump
One NVP water pump is listed, boxed for the X20SE alone as a 2.0 SOHC eight valve. The camshaft on this engine turns on a toothed belt rather than a chain, so plan the pump in with the belt.
Conrod bearings
The NDC conrod bearing set here is 0.5 mm undersize, catalogued across the X18XE, C18SEL, C22SE, C20SEL and X20SE. The earlier C20NE is the same 1,998 cc eight valve engine, so much of this page crosses to it.
