West Coast Suspensions lift kits, GVM upgrades, springs and monotube struts for 4WDs, utes and light trucks.
The WCS range here covers full lift kits and remote reservoir GVM upgrades, plus leaf and coil springs, monotube struts, U-bolts, centrebolts, shackles and bushes. Light truck and van fitments too, not just wagons and dual cabs.
A GVM upgrade lifts the legal loaded weight of the vehicle and has to be engineered and certified for it. That’s a different thing to a lift kit and people mix the two up constantly. Ask us which one you actually need before you order.
Fitted at Oxley or Warana, or shipped Australia wide. Also see Leaf Springs, Coil Springs and Struts and Shocks.

What West Coast Suspensions is for

This is the range to look at when the vehicle carries weight. West Coast Suspensions is leaf-led and load-focused: leaf packs, shocks, coil springs, complete lift kits, and the U-bolts, bushes and upper control arms that wear out alongside them.

The U-bolts and control arms are the tell. On a loaded tourer or tray-back it is rarely just the springs that need replacing. Coverage is strongest on Toyota, especially LandCruiser, then Ford, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Isuzu, with unusually good Jeep support for a range of this size.

GVM upgrades

Some of this range is sold as GVM upgrade kits, engineered to raise your vehicle’s legal Gross Vehicle Mass rather than simply to lift it. A GVM upgrade is not just a parts decision. It is an engineered suspension package plus certification and plating, and the pathway differs by vehicle and by state.

Talk to us before you buy one. We will confirm which kit suits your vehicle, what certification applies where you are registered, and whether you need a GVM upgrade at all, because correctly rated springs sometimes solve the problem on their own.

Leaf-sprung utes and tourers

If your ute or tray-back sags under load, this is the place to start. Leaf packs are rated for the weight they are expected to carry, and a pack that suits a permanently loaded tourer is wrong for a vehicle that is usually empty.

One thing worth insisting on: replace the U-bolts whenever a leaf pack comes off. They stretch once torqued, so re-using them is a false economy on the component holding your axle to the spring.

Getting the rating right

Weigh it if you can. Bar work, a canopy or tray, drawers, a long-range tank, water and the towball download add up faster than most people expect, and roughly 350kg of a 3,500kg van lands on the ball and comes straight out of your payload.

Tell us what the vehicle carries and what it tows, and we will match the pack. We supply Australia-wide and fit and align in-workshop at Oxley and Warana.

West Coast Suspensions FAQs

What is a GVM upgrade and do I need one?

It is an engineered suspension package plus certification that raises the legal maximum loaded weight of your vehicle. You need one if you are consistently at or over the factory GVM, which is common on touring builds with bar work, drawers, water and a heavy towball load. If you are only sagging under an occasional load, correctly rated springs may be the better answer. Ask us before you commit.

Can I fit a GVM kit myself?

The parts are fitted like any suspension kit, but the upgrade only counts legally once it is certified and plated by a licensed engineer, and the pathway varies by state and by vehicle. Talk to us about the process for your vehicle before you order.

Do I need new U-bolts when I replace leaf springs?

Yes. U-bolts stretch once they have been torqued, so they are a single-use item in practice. Re-using them on a rebuilt leaf pack risks the clamp load that holds your axle in place.

How do I choose a leaf spring rating?

Rate it for the weight the vehicle carries most of the time, not its worst day. Tell us your tray or canopy, drawers, water, and typical towball download and we will match the pack.

Will heavier springs ruin the unladen ride?

They will firm it up, which is the trade-off for load capacity. If the vehicle is only occasionally loaded, correctly rated springs plus airbag helpers usually ride better than simply fitting the heaviest pack available.

Can you fit it, or is this supply only?

Both. We ship Australia-wide, and we fit and align suspension at Oxley in Brisbane and Warana on the Sunshine Coast.

We fit suspension, not just sell it

Suspension is a fitting job as much as a parts job, and we do both. Our suspension and GVM services page covers what a lift, a GVM upgrade and an alignment actually involve.

Carrying more than the factory suspension was built for?
Tell us your vehicle, your build, and what it carries and tows. Our Australian-based team will tell you whether you need rated springs or a full GVM upgrade, and what certification applies where you are registered.
