The Nissan L-series spans the 1.6 litre L16 four through to the 2.8 litre L28 six, all SOHC and naturally aspirated. Carburettor and fuel injected versions were built from the mid 1960s into the 1980s, the E suffix marking EFI. Fitment covers the Patrol MQ and MK (160), the 240Z and the Skyline. Filed at family level rather than under one code, the L-series page carries 8 parts.
Most of what sits here is also on the L20, L24 and L28 pages, which are split by displacement. Use those if you know your exact code.
Piston and ring sets
Ring sets are listed in 1mm oversize for the L24, L24E, L26 and L28. An L28 piston set is listed in the same oversize. Nearly every L-series block has been apart before, so measure the bore rather than working from the last set fitted.
L-Series bearing sets
Main and conrod bearing sets run across the L20 through to the L28, including a 0.75mm undersize conrod set. Sizes are marked on the box, so check what the crank was ground to.
Timing chain guides
The L-series uses a timing chain, not a belt. Guides are listed for the L28 and across the L16, L24 and L28.
