The Volkswagen AXE is a 2.5 litre five cylinder turbo diesel, single overhead cam with 10 valves and unit injectors in place of a common rail. Volkswagen fitted it to the T5 Transporter, Caravelle and Multivan from about 2003 to 2009. We list 8 parts for the AXE.

AXE head gaskets and gasket sets

Four of the seven lines seal the engine. There is a 1.5mm head gasket cut for the AXE on its own. A Victor Reinz MLS head gasket covers it alongside the AXD, BAC, BNZ and BPC. A VRS set and a Victor Reinz lower set take care of the remaining joints. Volkswagen graded these head gaskets by thickness against piston protrusion, so measure the protrusion before ordering rather than copying the gasket that came off.

AXE head bolts and conrod bearings

The head bolt set covers the AXE along with the AXD, BNZ, BAC and BPC. Those bolts are torque to yield, so they go in new with the gasket. A TDC conrod bearing set is the only bottom end line here, and it is filed under Audi rather than Volkswagen.

The AXE water pump and what else is filed here

An FAI water pump is the only cooling line under the AXE, and the toothed belt that drives the camshaft turns it as well. The same pump is catalogued for the BPC, BNZ and AXD.
