Start with what the vehicle carries
Spring rates should match the weight the vehicle carries every day, not its heaviest weekend. Add up what stays on it: bar work, winch, canopy or tray, drawers, water, a second battery and a long range tank, then the towball download if you tow. That total decides the coil springs or leaf pack. Rate too high and the ride turns harsh when the vehicle is empty; rate too low and the rear sits down under load.
A complete kit, or one part at a time
A lift kit pairs springs and shocks that are rated to each other for a nominated height, which makes it the simpler buy for most builds. Single parts make sense when one shock has failed, when the vehicle already runs a lift you are keeping, or when the load doesn't suit any standard rating. If you're not sure which applies, tell us what is on the vehicle now.
Replace the wear parts with it
Fresh springs on worn bushes still leave a vehicle feeling loose, so do the bushes and shackles while it is apart. Replace U-bolts every time a leaf pack comes off, because they stretch once torqued. On independent front suspension utes a lift can pull caster out of range, and upper control arms bring it back. Sway bar links and steering dampers round out the list.
Lift height, GVM and the rules
How much lift is legal is set by each state and depends on how the lift is achieved. Smaller lifts are commonly fitted without certification, larger ones need an engineer, and a GVM upgrade is its own engineered package with certification and plating. Our lift kit sizing guide walks through choosing a height. Tell us your vehicle and the state it is registered in before you order.
Common questions
Do you fit suspension as well as sell it?
Yes. We fit lift kits, springs, shocks and GVM upgrades at Oxley in Brisbane and Warana on the Sunshine Coast. Our suspension and GVM workshop page explains what each job involves, and booking in takes a phone call.
How quickly do suspension parts ship?
Suspension parts on this page are dispatched by the supplier, usually within 1 to 2 business days when they are in stock. Delivery then usually takes 2 to 10 business days depending on where you are. The cart shows the freight for your postcode before you pay.
What warranty comes with suspension parts?
Parts we supply carry a 12-month warranty against defects, from the date of purchase or installation, whichever is later. It is subject to the manufacturer's terms and fair wear and tear, and it sits on top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Clause 7.1 of our Terms and Conditions sets it out.
