The Mazda WL is a 2.5 litre inline four diesel with a single overhead cam and 12 valves. The Mazda WL is naturally aspirated with indirect injection from a mechanical distributor pump. Mazda built it from about 1996 to 2006 for the Bravo and the Ford Courier, and the WL-T is its turbo version. Most boxes here also carry the later WL-C code. The shelf holds 21 parts for the Mazda WL.
WL and WL-T pistons and ring sets
An NVP piston set and a Yenmak piston and ring set at 0.5mm oversize, both boxed for the WL-T. A TP ring set is listed at 1mm oversize. Neither ring set is standard size, so measure the bores first.
Timing belt, tensioner and water pump
The WL runs a timing belt, not a chain. Check the valve count before ordering: the belt set here is for the DOHC 16 valve WL-C and WE common rail engines, while the tensioner suits the SOHC 12 valve WL and WL-T. The NPW water pump also covers the WLAT and WEAT, the 2.5 and 3.0 litre common rail engines of the PJ and PK Ranger.
