The Toyota 4A is a 1.6 litre inline four used in the Corolla AE82, AE92 and AE101 from the early 1980s to the late 1990s, all of them naturally aspirated. Fuel system and valvetrain follow the suffix: the 4A-C runs a carburettor and a single overhead cam, while the 4A-FE and 4A-GE are fuel injected twin cams.This page lists 30 parts for the Toyota 4A.
4A head gaskets and gasket sets
Head gaskets suit the 4A, 4AC and 4ALC, with separate VRS, full and lower sets for the 4A-C, 4A-FC, 4A-FE and 4A-GE. Order against the suffix on your engine, not the build year, because the heads do not interchange. The 4A-GE runs the wide angle twin cam head and the 4A-FE the narrow angle economy head on the same 1.6 litre block.
4A pistons, rings and bearings
Ring sets cover the 4AC, 4A-FC, 4A-FE and 4A-GE. Conrod bearing sets also suit the smaller 1.3 litre 2A and 1.5 litre 3A.
