The Suzuki F8A is a naturally aspirated 797 cc inline four with a single overhead camshaft, eight valves and a carburettor. It powered the Jimny and the Sierra SJ410 and the Carry from the late 1970s into the 1990s. Willys lists 5 parts under the F8A, split between bottom end bearings and the front of the engine.
F8A water pump
The F8A is the 797 cc four and the F10A is the same design taken out to 970 cc. One NPW water pump is listed and it suits both. Compare the pulley offset and the gasket face with the old pump before fitting.
Timing belt tensioner
The F8A drives its camshaft with a timing belt, not a chain. A tensioner pulley is listed on its own. Spin it by hand first, because a dry bearing will take the new belt with it.
Conrod bearings and thrust washers
NDC supplies a conrod bearing set and a thrust washer set, both cross listed with the F10A. Measure the crank journals before choosing a size, since these engines are often reground rather than replaced.
