Mitsubishi 4G69 Engine Parts

The Mitsubishi 4G69 is a 2.4 litre inline four, SOHC with 16 valves and MIVEC, naturally aspirated with multi point injection, built from 2003. Here it went into the Outlander ZF, the Grandis and the Lancer CH 2.4. It is the 87 mm bore development of the 4G64, the 86.5 mm bore 2.4 in the Triton ML and MJ/MK.Our 4G69 stock runs to 16 parts.

Timing belt and tensioners

The 4G69 runs a timing belt, not a chain. A Dayco timing set with hydraulic tensioner, NVP and Mitsubishi belt tensioners, tensioner pulleys and pulley bearings. The balance shaft belt sits behind the main belt and is the one that gets skipped, so do it and its front seal while the covers are off.

Bearings, rings and extractor

ACL conrod and Race main bearing sets boxed across the 4G63, 4G64 and 4G69, the main set with separate thrust washers. An NPR ring set and a Manta direct fit extractor for the Lancer CH. Bearings interchange across the three but rings do not: the 4G63 is a 2.0 and the 4G64 bore is half a millimetre smaller.
