Diesel Tuning Sunshine Coast
We tune diesels at our Warana workshop, 29 Production Avenue. Most tunes are done in a day. You drop the vehicle off in the morning and drive it home that afternoon, road tested and signed off. Every tune is built for your vehicle on our dyno, and the Warana team is rated 4.8 on Google.
What you get
A Warana tune, start to finish
- A check before we tune. We look over the vehicle first. If the real problem is a service, a leaking intercooler pipe or worn injectors, we tell you instead of selling you a tune.
- A calibration for your vehicle. We write the fuel, boost and timing maps for your engine and how you use it. It is not a file copied from the last car.
- Dyno and road test. The tune is developed on the dyno and checked on the road before you collect the vehicle.
- Switchable maps if you want them. Run a towing map for the weekend and an economy map for the week.
- No surprises on time. If your vehicle needs parts or longer on the bench, we tell you before you leave it with us.

Towing and touring
Built for load, not for a dyno number. The extra torque goes into the low and middle of the rev range, so the gearbox holds a gear on a long climb instead of hunting, and exhaust temperatures stay in a safe range. If you tow often, ask us about a transmission cooler too.
Power
More pull when you put your foot down and less turbo lag, set up so the engine still lasts.
Economy
Cleaner, smoother running at part throttle. Your right foot still decides the final fuel figure, but a healthy engine on a good tune works less hard at 100 km/h.

It depends on the engine, its condition and any parts already fitted. Check indicative gains for your make, model and engine, and we confirm the real numbers on our dyno.

Frequently asked questions
Can you tune a ute for beach driving at Double Island or Noosa North Shore?
Yes. Soft sand needs instant throttle response and strong torque at low revs, not top-end power. We set the tune up so you can hold momentum without bogging down, and keep exhaust temperatures in check on slow, heavy runs. If you drive on the beach a lot, ask us about a snorkel or a better air intake.
Will a tune help on the climbs to Montville and Maleny?
Yes. A tune that brings torque in earlier means fewer downshifts and less strain on long grades, and more predictable throttle on the way back down. We keep boost and exhaust temperatures within safe limits, because long climbs work any diesel hard.
Is tuning safe for towing a caravan up the Bald Knob Range?
It is when the tune is built for towing. We aim for steady, usable torque low in the rev range and watch exhaust temperatures under load. We also look at the transmission, because more torque means more heat through the gearbox.
Will I use less fuel?
Most owners see better economy on steady highway runs, such as the Bruce Highway and the Sunshine Motorway. The gain comes from cleaner combustion and better part-throttle response. It only holds if the engine is healthy, so we check filters, injectors and servicing first.
Can you retune after I fit an exhaust, intercooler or snorkel?
Yes, and it is usually worth doing. Your original tune was built for the old airflow. We rewrite it for the new parts, then check it on the dyno and the road.
