LDV Diesel

LDV Diesel Performance Tuning & Servicing

LDV has become one of the fastest-growing diesel brands on Australian work sites and driveways, with the T60 and T60 Max utes and the Deliver 9 and G10 vans offering serious capability at a sharp price point. Under the badge sits SAIC engineering: the early T60 used a 2.8-litre SC28R single-turbo diesel, while the current T60 Max runs a modern 2.0-litre bi-turbo four-cylinder. They are honest, hard-working engines, but like every Euro-emissions diesel sold here they carry an EGR, a DPF and, on later models, an AdBlue SCR system that all need the right care.

At Willy’s Workshop we work on LDV diesels every week across both of our Queensland sites, so we understand how these drivetrains behave when they are towing at the 3.5-tonne limit, sitting in suburban traffic, or racking up commercial kilometres in a Deliver 9. The factory ECU calibration on these vehicles is conservative and built for a global market, which leaves real, measurable room to sharpen throttle response, smooth out turbo lag and lift mid-range torque without pushing the engine past safe limits.

Whether you want a dyno-verified performance tune to make your T60 Max feel like the ute it should have been, or you simply need a proper diesel service and an EGR or DPF sorted out, our LDV work is done in-house by diesel specialists. We tune on the factory ECU, log real data and back every result with a road or dyno verification, not guesswork.

Engines We Tune

LDV diesel engines we tune

T60 (early) 2.8L SC28R single-turbo diesel
160kW / 500Nm
SDEC-built I4 with variable-geometry turbo (Euro 5, no AdBlue); durable but conservative, with EGR carbon build-up and DPF clogging on low-speed running the main service concerns.
T60 Max 2.0L bi-turbo diesel
160 kW / 500 Nm
Modern SAIC bi-turbo four; strong mid-range (peak 500Nm from 1500rpm) and 3.5t braked towing, with EGR and intake soot the items to stay on top of.
Deliver 9 2.0L turbo-diesel
128 kW / 420 Nm
Commercial single-turbo four; MY24-on is Euro 6 with a 20L AdBlue/SCR tank, while earlier MY23 models were Euro 5 (108kW/375Nm, DPF, no AdBlue) — confirm your exact build.

Why choose Willy’s for your LDV

Performance Tuning

Custom, dyno-verified ECU tuning for the T60, T60 Max and Deliver 9 — developed in-house on your actual vehicle.

  • Custom-developed tunes for the 2.0-litre bi-turbo T60 Max, the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel Deliver 9 and the earlier 2.8-litre SC28R T60 — written and validated on the factory ECU rather than loaded from a generic file.
  • Targeted gains in mid-range torque and throttle sharpness — the difference you actually feel when towing, loaded or merging — with every change logged and dyno or road verified.
  • Calibration tailored to how the vehicle is used, from a Deliver 9 doing daily commercial runs to a T60 Max set up for touring and towing near its 3.5-tonne braked limit.
  • Safe, sensible limits on boost, fuel and exhaust temperatures so reliability and drivability are protected, not traded away for a bigger number.

Servicing & Repair

Full diesel servicing and repair for LDV utes and vans, including the emissions hardware that gives these engines the most trouble.

  • Logbook-style servicing for the T60, T60 Max, Deliver 9 and G10 — engine oil and filters, fuel and air filtration, plus AdBlue checks on Euro 6 models that require it.
  • EGR diagnosis, cleaning and repair — these LDV engines are well known for EGR valve and cooler carbon build-up that causes rough idle, hard starting and limp-mode events.
  • DPF inspection, forced regeneration and cleaning for vehicles doing short, low-speed suburban running that never lets the filter regenerate properly.
  • Turbo, intercooler and boost-system work, including split intercooler pipes and boost-pressure sensor faults that commonly trip the MIL and restrict RPM on the G10 and T60.

FAQ

LDV diesel FAQs

Is it worth tuning an LDV T60 or T60 Max?
For most owners, yes. The factory calibration on LDV diesels is deliberately conservative for a global market, so a custom tune developed on your vehicle can noticeably sharpen throttle response and lift mid-range torque where you use it most — towing, climbing and merging. Because we tune on the factory ECU and verify on the dyno or road, you get a real, measurable result rather than a generic file.
Will a tune or modification affect my LDV warranty?
Any modification can potentially affect a manufacturer or dealer warranty claim, so it is something to weigh up — particularly on a near-new vehicle. We are happy to talk you through what is reversible and what to consider before you book. Under Australian Consumer Law a modification does not automatically void all of your rights, but the safest approach is an open conversation first, which we are always glad to have.
Can you delete or remove my EGR, DPF or AdBlue system?
Emissions-control hardware such as the EGR, DPF and AdBlue/SCR system is fitted for legal compliance, and tampering with it is not permitted for road-registered vehicles in Australia. What we do instead is keep these systems working properly — diagnosing faults, cleaning carbon-clogged EGRs, carrying out DPF regenerations and cleaning, and sorting AdBlue issues so the vehicle runs as the factory intended.
How much power and torque can I expect to gain?
Honest answer: it depends on the specific engine, model year and condition of your LDV, so we do not quote a fixed figure before we have the vehicle in front of us. The gains on a 2.0-litre bi-turbo T60 Max differ from those on the older 2.8-litre T60 or a 2.0-litre Deliver 9. We give you a realistic expectation up front and then prove the result with before-and-after data.
Which LDV engines and years do you tune and service?
We cover the LDV diesel range used in Australia: the early T60 with the 2.8-litre SC28R single-turbo, the current T60 Max with the 2.0-litre bi-turbo, and the Deliver 9 van with its 2.0-litre turbo-diesel, plus G10 servicing. Note that emissions setups changed over time — for example the Deliver 9 moved to a Euro 6 engine with AdBlue from around the MY24 update — so we confirm your exact configuration when you book.
How do I book, and how long does it take?
Just get in touch with our Oxley (Brisbane) or Warana (Sunshine Coast) workshop to book your LDV in. A standard diesel service is usually a same-day job, while a custom tune typically takes a day so we have time to log data and verify the result properly. EGR or DPF repairs depend on what we find, and we will confirm timing once the vehicle has been assessed.
