Toyota 3Y Rebuild Parts, from Bearings

The Toyota 3Y is a 2.0 litre inline four with a pushrod overhead valve head and eight valves, naturally aspirated and carburettor fed in most fitments. It ran from the early 1980s into the 1990s in the Hiace and in Toyota forklift and industrial engines. The 4Y that followed shares the same block family but is bored out to 2.2 litres.The Toyota 3Y list runs to 23 parts.

3Y bearings, pistons and rings

Main bearing sets, conrod bearing sets and camshaft bearing sets are listed across the 1Y to 4Y range, and piston and ring sets are stocked for the 3Y itself. The 2Y shares the 86mm bore with a shorter stroke, which is why some sets cover both, while the 4Y is opened out to 91mm and takes different pistons and rings.

Timing chain guides and tensioners

The Y series runs a timing chain, not a belt. Guides and tensioners are listed together with the 2T and 3T, which take the same components.

Extractors and gasket sets

Manta extractors for the 2WD Hiace and Hilux Y series are stocked with the matching extractor gaskets. VRS gasket sets cover the 2Y and 3Y together.
