Mitsubishi 4M40T Engine Parts

The Mitsubishi 4M40T is the turbocharged version of the 2.8 litre 4M40, an inline-4 SOHC 8-valve indirect-injection diesel built from 1993 into the mid 2000s. The naturally aspirated 4M40 went into Canter trucks, while the turbocharged 4M40T powered the Pajero NJ, NK and NL 2.8 turbo and the Triton MK. We stock 20 parts for it.

4M40T pistons and ring sets

Pistons are the largest group here, with TIK and RIK piston and ring sets in standard, 0.1mm (4 thou) and 1mm oversize. Pistons for the 8-valve, non common rail engine are listed separately, so measure the bore before ordering and match the listing to your injection type.

4M40T head gaskets and head bolts

Victor Reinz and Permaseal head gaskets are listed for the 4M40 and 4M40T, with a head bolt set to go with them.

4M40T bearings and timing chain guides

The 4M40T uses a timing chain, not a belt. Chain guides are listed with ACL conrod bearings and Taiho balance shaft bearings, the latter shared with the 3.2 litre 4M41. The single timing belt spacer in the grid is a genuine Mitsubishi part cross-listed from belt-driven engines.
