The Hyundai G4GB is a 1795 cc Beta inline four with twin overhead camshafts, 16 valves and multipoint injection. The G4GB is naturally aspirated and it ran from the mid 1990s to the mid 2000s in the Lantra J2, the Elantra XD and the Coupe. Only 5 parts are filed under the G4GB, and they suit a rebuild more than a service.
G4GB full gasket set
Permaseal lists a full gasket set that covers the G4GB and the 2.0 litre G4GC. The two share an 82 mm bore and differ only in stroke, so a listing that names both is not a filing error. The same holds for most of this page.
Timing belt tensioner
The G4GB runs a timing belt, not a chain. The tensioner is shared with the 2.0 litre G4GF and the 1.8 litre G4GM. Change it with the belt rather than after it, because a seized pulley will shred a new belt.
G4GB rings and conrod bearings
RIK supplies a ring set and NDC a conrod bearing, both listed across the Beta range. Decide on standard or an oversize from a measured bore, not from what the engine had in it last.
Other G4GB parts we stock
A rocker cover is also filed under the G4GB. Fit it with a fresh gasket rather than sealant.
