The Daihatsu CB is a 1.0 litre three cylinder petrol engine with a single overhead camshaft and six valves. Daihatsu built it through the 1980s and into the 1990s for the Charade and the small vans that shared its running gear. The CB drives its camshaft with a toothed belt, not a chain. Stock under the Daihatsu CB runs to 10 parts, weighted towards bearings and gasket sets.
Daihatsu CB timing belt tensioners
Two tensioners are listed, an NVP unit and a separate tensioner pulley. Both are belt items, so price them with the belt rather than after it. A tensioner that has already been round once is the usual reason a fresh belt does not last.
Daihatsu CB main and conrod bearings
NDC and ACL main sets sit here alongside an NDC conrod set, and one main set is a 0.25mm undersize. Several are boxed for the CD and the CL as well, which is how the supplier groups the family rather than a promise that one set covers all three. Measure the journals before choosing between standard and undersize.
Gasket sets and rings for the Daihatsu CB
A KP full gasket set, a KP VRS set, a rocker cover gasket and a TP ring set. The VRS set stops at the head, so a bottom end rebuild wants the full set instead.
