Which rebuild kit do I need?
TD42 naturally aspirated and TD42 turbo take different pistons. A turbo kit in an N/A block, or the reverse, will not give you the compression ratio you are after. If you are stepping up to turbo as part of the rebuild, order the turbo-upgrade kit. Piston, main and conrod bearing sizes are selectable in standard and oversize — tell us what the block and crank have been machined to and we will confirm before dispatch.
Why our kits cost more than the cheap ones
There are TD42 kits online for under a thousand dollars. They are not the same parts. Ours are matched sets, with the pistons, rings, bearings and gaskets specified together for the block, and someone on the phone who knows the engine. A rebuild is a weekend of your time and a machine shop bill on top; the kit is the cheapest place to not cut a corner.
