The Duramax LB7 is GM’s 6.6 litre V8 turbo diesel. It uses a pushrod valvetrain with four valves per cylinder and Bosch common rail direct injection. Production ran from 2001 to 2004 in the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500, most of them behind the Allison 1000 automatic. All 18 parts filed under the Duramax LB7 here are Allison 1000 driveline hardware rather than engine internals.
Allison 1000 transmissions and service kits
Complete Allison 1000 units are listed as Stage 1 and Stage 2 builds. Service kits, an Allison 1000 pump and an OEM spin on filter sit alongside them, with a Goerend planetary upgrade. The LB7 camshaft is gear driven, so there is no timing belt or chain in the picture.
Billet shafts, flexplates and deep pans
TCS billet input and output shafts are listed for the Allison 1000, the output shaft for 4WD use from 2001 to 2010. A billet flexplate, MagHytec deep pans and a Fluidyne heavy duty cooler round out the hard parts. Work out whether your box is a five speed or a six speed before ordering a pan or kit.
