The Toyota L is a 2.2 litre indirect injection diesel with a SOHC inline four turned by a toothed belt. It is not the 2L, the larger 2.4 litre engine that replaced it. The Toyota L is naturally aspirated, and Toyota built it from 1977 into the late 1980s for the Hilux. Parts sit under the pre-1997 Hilux LN and RN group. Stock for the Toyota L runs to 13 parts.
Conrod and main bearings
Three bearing sets are listed here: two conrod sets and one ACL main set. One of the conrod sets is a Taiho. The ACL main bearing set is filed for the Toyota L and the bigger 2L, 3L and 5L.
Ring sets
Two ring sets are listed, and both are filed for the Toyota L on its own rather than shared with the 2L. The bearing sets and the pin bush set cross both engines, so quote your engine number if you are not sure which you have.
