The Z24 is Nissan’s 2.4 litre petrol inline four, 2389cc, with a single overhead cam, 8 valves and two spark plugs per cylinder. The Z24 is naturally aspirated and carburetted. Nissan fitted it to the later 720 ute, the D21 Navara from 1986 to 1997 and the E24 Urvan and Cabstar. The Z20 and Z22 are the same family at 2.0 and 2.2 litres. We stock 20 parts for it here.
Z24 timing chain and guides
The Z24 uses a timing chain, not a belt. We list the single row chain set for the 2.4 SOHC 8 valve engine and a genuine tension side chain guide, which is sold on its own.
Z24 pistons, rings and bearings
Piston and ring sets from NVP and JCC, TP ring sets, and main and conrod bearing sets. The bearing sets are listed across the L20B, Z20, Z22 and Z24, but rings are not: the Z24 bore is 89mm against 87mm on the Z22 and 85mm on the Z20, so measure the bore before ordering rings.
Z24 gasket sets and head bolts
A VRS set for the 1986 to 1993 engine, a lower gasket set for the SOHC 8 valve, and a head bolt set that is listed for both the Z24 and the KA24E.
