DPF Cleaning, Repair & Replacement

Lost power, using more fuel than usual, or seeing a “DPF full” message? The fault is usually in the DPF, the EGR or the AdBlue system, and one often causes another. This is how we handle each.

DPF Cleaning & Forced Regen

Where the filter is recoverable we force-regenerate and clean it on the car, usually the same day. That costs far less than a new filter, which can run $1,500 to $4,000+ on a common ute or 4WD.

DPF Repair & Replacement

If the filter is genuinely beyond saving, we tell you straight and quote your options, including replacement, so the vehicle stays road-legal.

Off-Road Only: DPF, EGR & AdBlue Delete

For off-road, unregistered competition and track vehicles only, we carry out DPF, EGR and AdBlue deletes with an ECU calibration to suit. We do not delete emissions equipment on road-registered vehicles, because that is not legal for street use. Road-registered? We clean or repair your DPF, EGR or AdBlue system instead.

Signs your DPF, EGR or AdBlue needs attention

If you are seeing any of these, book a diagnostic before it turns into turbo or injector damage.

Amber DPF warning light or a “DPF full” message
Limp mode or a sudden loss of power
Black smoke under acceleration
Noticeably worse fuel economy
Failed or constantly repeating regenerations
Rough idle, hesitation or surging (often the EGR)
Rising oil level or a fuel smell in the oil
AdBlue / SCR warning light or countdown

Short trips are the usual cause. The filter never gets hot enough for long enough to burn the soot off, and a sticking EGR valve, a faulty sensor or a worn injector makes it worse. Fixing that cause is what stops the filter blocking again.

What is a DPF delete? (off-road only)

A DPF delete removes the diesel particulate filter from the exhaust and recalibrates the ECU to run without it. We only do this on off-road, unregistered competition and track vehicles. Removing or disabling emissions equipment on a registered road vehicle is not legal, so if your vehicle is registered, the right fix is cleaning or repair, covered above. We read fault codes and live data first, so you are not paying to clean a filter that actually has a sensor or injector fault behind it.

Cleaning a recoverable DPF costs far less than a new filter, and fixing the EGR, sensor or injector fault behind it stops you paying for the same blockage twice.

EGR & AdBlue Repairs

The DPF, EGR and AdBlue systems work together, so a fault in one often shows up as a problem in another. We diagnose the whole system before replacing anything.

EGR Repair Carbon from the exhaust builds up in the EGR valve and passages until the valve sticks, causing rough idle, hesitation, poor economy and fault codes. We clean and refit a serviceable valve, or replace a failed one with a quality part, then clear the faults and confirm the system is working.
AdBlue Repair Faulty sensors, contaminated fluid or dosing faults trigger AdBlue warnings and countdowns. We diagnose, recalibrate and repair the system so it works correctly and the vehicle stays road-legal, rather than just resetting the code.
