Subaru EA81 Engine Parts

The Subaru EA81 is a 1781 cc horizontally opposed four with pushrods and two valves per cylinder. The EA81 is carburetted and naturally aspirated, on a 92 mm bore and a 67 mm stroke. Subaru built it from 1980 into the early 1990s for the Leone, the L series and the Brumby. Our EA81 listing holds 5 parts, all bottom end rebuild sets.

EA81 piston and ring sets

A TIK piston set is listed for the EA81, with an NVP ring set in 1 mm oversize. A 1 mm rebore is a long way into an EA81 block, so measure the bores before you commit to that size. Oversize rings on standard pistons will not seal, so match the two.

Bearing and pin bush sets

NDC main and conrod bearing sets are listed, along with a pin bush set for the small end. The conrod set also covers the 1595 cc EA71, the short stroke version of the same block. The EA81 small end runs a replaceable bush, so price the bush set while the rods are out.
