The D4FA code covers two different engines. Hyundai’s D4FA is the 1.5 CRDi, a DOHC common rail turbo diesel four from the Getz and Accent. It is filed here with the i30 and Elantra. Ford uses D4FA for the 2.4 litre Duratorq DOHC turbo diesel in the Transit. Between them, 6 parts are listed on this page.
D4FA pistons and rings
Two piston sets are listed, one for the Ford D4FA Duratorq at 0.5mm oversize and one for the Hyundai and Kia D4FA. The oversize set only suits a block that has already been bored, so measure before you order.
D4FA timing chain set and water pump
Hyundai’s version runs a timing chain, and the chain set here is filed for the D4FA and the 1.6 litre D4FB together. The water pump is listed on the Ford side, against the H9FA and H9FB 2.4 litre.
D4FA main bearings and rocker cover gasket
An ACL Race main bearing set is listed against a long string of Ford Duratorq codes including the D4FA. A Permaseal rocker cover gasket covers the D2FA, D4FA, D0FA and H9FA.
