The Honda EB2 is a 1.2 litre single overhead cam inline four with eight valves and a carburettor, built through the 1970s for the first generation Civic. Honda ran the EB1 below it and the CVCC headed EB3 alongside, which is why supplier boxes carry more than one code. Pistons, rings and main bearings make up the 3 parts on the EB2 page.
EB2 piston and ring sets
A JCC convex crown piston set is listed for the EB2 and EB3, and a TP ring set is catalogued against the SOHC EB2 on its own. Honda’s EB drives its overhead cam with a toothed belt and not a chain. Fifty year old blocks are rarely still standard, so measure the bores and order the ring set to match the pistons already in them.
Main bearings for the EB2
The NDC main bearing set covers the EB1 and EB2 along with the EM, EK and EG codes. Read the size stamped on the old shells before ordering, since these sets come in standard and undersize.
