Toyota 5K Engine Parts

The Toyota 5K is a 1.5 litre inline four petrol, pushrod overhead valve with two valves per cylinder, naturally aspirated on a carburettor. It is the 1.3 litre 4K bored out from 75 to 80.5 mm on the same 73 mm stroke. Toyota built it from 1983 into the late 1990s for the Liteace and its forklifts.There are 12 parts listed for the Toyota 5K.

5K bearings

NDC main bearings boxed for the 4K, 5K and the 1.8 litre 7K (same bore, longer stroke), NDC conrod bearings for the 1.2 litre 3K, 4K and 5K, a second conrod set 1 mm undersize and a camshaft bearing set. Bearings are the most shared part across the K family.

Timing chain and timing sets

The 5K uses a timing chain, not a belt. An NVP timing set for the 5K and 7K, a genuine Toyota single row chain, an aftermarket chain and a timing gear for 1982 onward engines, so check the build date on an early block.

5K pistons and rings

A 5K piston set at 0.5 mm oversize and a ring set at 1 mm oversize that is also boxed for the 1.8 litre 1S, which runs the same 80.5 mm bore. Measure the bore first: a standard 5K takes neither without a rebore.
