The Nissan VK56VD is the naturally aspirated direct injection version of the 5.6 litre VK56 V8. Double overhead cams and 32 valves run with VVEL variable lift on the inlet cams. Nissan built the VK56VD from 2010 for the Patrol Y62, the Titan and the Armada. Piston, ring and thrust washer lines take the VK56VD to 3 parts, with the sealing and timing shelves empty.

Timing on the VK56VD is chain driven, which is why nothing on this page is a service interval item. The port injected VK56DE runs no high pressure fuel pump and sits on the wider VK56 archive.

NDC box a thrust washer set for the VK56VD with the 5.0 litre VK50 and the 4.5 litre VK45. Measure crank end float with a dial gauge before choosing between standard and oversize washers.
