The Holden Z18XER is a 1796 cc inline four with twin overhead camshafts, 16 valves and variable valve timing on both cams. The Z18XER is naturally aspirated with port fuel injection, and it ran in the Astra AH and the Vectra from about 2005. The Z18XER listing runs to 6 parts, and gasket sets make up half of them.
Z18XER gasket sets
A full VRS set and a lower set are both listed, plus a separate exhaust manifold gasket. The sets come from Victor Reinz and the manifold gasket from Permaseal. Work out whether the job needs the lower set only before paying for the full one.
Z18XER timing belt
The Z18XER uses a timing belt, not a chain. The belt is listed on its own, so source the tensioner and idlers to suit your interval.
Z18XER pistons and rings
Yenmak supplies a piston and ring set in 0.5mm oversize. The bore matches the earlier Z18XE, which is the same 1796 cc without variable valve timing. Measure each bore after machining rather than ordering off the old piston.
