The Isuzu G161Z is a 1.6 litre inline four with a SOHC 8 valve head, carburettor fed and naturally aspirated. Isuzu used it from the late 1970s through the 1980s in the Gemini TE and the petrol Rodeo KB. The G161Z runs a timing chain, not a belt. The chain runs on replaceable guides.Our G161Z stock runs to 7 parts.
G161Z piston and ring sets
Pistons and rings are the biggest group here, with a piston set and two ring sets. One of the ring sets is a TP part and one is filed against the 4ZA1 as well.
Timing chain and guide
The timing chain is listed for the G161 and the G161Z together, and the chain guide is sold on its own. Guides are usually what lets go first on these, so look at the plastic face before you decide a chain is all you need. The G161 archive covers the same 1.6 litre unit without the Z suffix.
VRS gasket set
A KP VRS gasket set is listed for the SOHC 8 valve head, which is the set to order when the head gasket and the valve stem seals go together.
