Holden F18D4 Engine Parts

The Holden F18D4 is the 1.8 litre GM Family 1 four cylinder. It displaces 1796 cc with a DOHC 16 valve head and variable valve timing on both cams. The F18D4 is naturally aspirated with multipoint injection and runs a timing belt, not a chain. Holden fitted it to the Cruze JG from 2009 and the Cruze JH from 2011 to 2016.Our F18D4 stock runs to 10 parts.

F18D4 timing belt kits

Two belt listings sit here: an NVP timing belt on its own and the NVP timing belt set. The belt is a service item on this engine rather than a lifetime part. The same belt and set fit the Z18XER in the Astra AH. That is the Opel built version of the same 1.8 with the same 80.5 mm bore and 88.2 mm stroke.

F18D4 gasket sets and head bolts

NVP full, Victor Reinz VRS and Victor Reinz lower gasket sets cover a head off or a full rebuild. A Permaseal exhaust manifold gasket is listed as a single. The head bolts are stretch type and do not get reused. Order the NVP head bolt set with any head gasket.

The NVP rocker cover is the other item here, and it carries the PCV diaphragm inside it. When it splits the engine whistles at idle and weeps oil, so the fix is the whole cover.
