The Mercedes OM642 is a 3.0 litre common rail V6 turbo diesel, built since 2005 with double overhead camshafts and 24 valves. Mercedes fitted it to the W211 E-Class, the W164 ML and the 906 Sprinter. Jeep and Chrysler used the same V6 in the Grand Cherokee CRD. Because the piston set is one bank only, the 3 parts under the OM642 will not fill a V6.
OM642 pistons for cylinders 1, 3 and 5
The piston set here is right hand side only and covers cylinders 1, 3 and 5 at 0.5mm oversize. A rebuild needs the matching left bank set, which is not listed on this page. Oversize pistons only suit a block already bored, so measure the bores before you order.
OM642 crank and big end shells
Main bearings and conrod bearings are both listed as complete sets for the OM642. Neither states a size, so check what the crank has already been ground to. Camshaft drive on the OM642 is by chain, so no belt kit goes with a bottom end rebuild.
