Mazda uses the PN code for a 1.7 litre four cylinder diesel with eight valves. Mazda listed it for the Familia and the Ford Laser, and Willys files these parts under the Bravo and B-Series UF (1985 to 1998) and the T-series diesel. The PN turns its camshaft with a toothed belt, not a chain. We carry 6 parts for the PN.
Head gasket and full gasket set
A head gasket on its own and a full gasket set are both listed, each marked for the eight valve PN diesel. Diesel head gaskets are commonly supplied in thickness grades, so compare the new one against the old before it goes near the block.
PN timing belt
A timing belt is listed for the PN. Change the belt and the tensioner together, and turn the engine over by hand before you start it.
Pistons, bearings and the rest of the PN stock
A piston and ring set in 0.5 mm oversize and a conrod bearing set are also listed, along with a genuine Mazda rocker cover. Check what your block has already been machined to before you order either one.
