The Toyota 2NZ-FE is the 1.3 litre member of the NZ family. It is a 1298 cc inline four with a DOHC 16 valve head and VVT-i on the intake cam. The 2NZ-FE is naturally aspirated with multipoint injection and runs a timing chain, not a belt. Toyota fitted it to the Echo NCP10 (1999 to 2005) and the Yaris NCP90 (2005 to 2011). 2NZ-FE timing chain set and tensioner
An NVP timing chain set and a separate timing chain tensioner are the two timing parts listed. The tensioner also lists the 1NZ-FE. That is the 1.5 litre version with the same 75 mm bore and a longer 84.7 mm stroke. The shared bore is why 8 of these 9 parts carry both codes.
Pistons, rings and main bearings
Two piston sets are listed and both are 0.5 mm oversize: an NVP piston and ring set and a bare piston set. Neither suits a standard bore, so measure the block before ordering rather than assuming a first rebuild. An NVP main bearing set covers the crank.
Gasket sets and rear main seal
A KP VRS gasket set and a KP lower gasket set cover the top and bottom end. A genuine Toyota rear main seal is listed for the same pair of engines.
