The Ford 260 tag covers two different V8s and both are listed here. The Boss 260 is the naturally aspirated 5.4 litre DOHC 32 valve V8 with port injection in the BA and BF Falcon XR8 from 2002 to 2008. The 260 Windsor is the carburetted 4.3 litre pushrod small block of 1962 to 1965. Both run a timing chain, not a belt. We stock 9 parts across the pair.
Boss 260 pistons and rings
Four of the ten are piston and ring sets for the Boss 260 and the Boss 290. The 290 is the 290 kW FPV version of the same block. TIK and Enginetech supply the pistons and NPR and Enginetech the rings. The Enginetech flat top pistons are 0.5 mm oversize, so they only suit a block that is already bored. Measure the bores before ordering.
Bearings for the 260 Windsor
ACL Race and TDC main and conrod bearing sets cover the Windsor family. One set lists the 221, the 260 Windsor, the 289 and the 302 because all share journal sizes. The 289 (4.7 litre) and 302 (5.0 litre) run a 101.6 mm bore where the 260 Windsor has 96.5 mm. Enginetech covers the Boss 260 mains. Check the journals first: a crank that has been ground needs undersize shells, not standard.
