The Nissan VG33E is a 3.3 litre 60 degree V6 with a single overhead camshaft per bank, twelve valves and multipoint fuel injection. The VG33 is naturally aspirated and was fitted to the Pathfinder R50 and the Navara D22 from the mid 1990s to the mid 2000s. Nissan VG33 stock here amounts to 5 parts, all of them bottom end seals, rings and bearings.
Front and rear crankshaft seals
Both ends of the crank are covered. The front crankshaft seal is listed across a spread of Nissan engines, including the RB30, RB25 and GA16. The Permaseal rear main seal is shared with the YD25 and VQ40. The VG33 turns its camshafts with a toothed belt rather than a chain, so budget on pulling the timing covers to reach the front seal.
Piston rings and conrod bearings
The ring set is listed for the VG33 on its own. The conrod bearing set covers the RB30, VG30 and VG33 together. The 3.0 litre VG30 keeps the same 83mm stroke but drops to an 87mm bore, so ring sets do not cross over. Check the oversize stamped on your pistons before ordering, since a rebored VG33 will not take standard rings.
What else sits under the VG33
A Manta extractor gasket listed for the VG30 and VG33 V6 rounds out the page. It is worth grabbing when the manifolds come off, since the old one rarely survives removal.
