The Mitsubishi 4M42 is a 3.0 litre DOHC 16 valve inline four turbo diesel running common rail direct injection. Mitsubishi Fuso fitted it to the Canter light truck from the early 2000s. It is not a Pajero engine, despite the filing here: that was the 2.8 litre SOHC 4M40 and the 3.2 litre DOHC 4M41. The 4M42 carries 5 parts here, all pistons, rings and bearings.
4M42 pistons and ring sets
Yenmak lists a piston and ring set for the 4M42, and RIK lists rings on a number shared with the 4M40T. The 4M40 and 4M42 share a 95mm bore and differ in stroke, which is why one ring set covers both.
