The Toyota 3E is the 1.5 litre member of Toyota’s E series, a four cylinder petrol engine with a single overhead camshaft and twelve valves. Toyota used it in the Starlet and Corolla through the late 1980s and early 1990s. Camshaft drive across the E series is by toothed belt. Bottom end hardware is all the Toyota 3E carries here, and that comes to 3 parts.
Toyota 3E main and conrod bearings
An NDC main bearing set and an NDC conrod set, both filed to the 3E on its own rather than boxed across the family. Neither carries a size in its listing, so confirm standard or undersize against the crank in front of you before ordering.
Thrust washers for the Toyota 3E
The thrust washer is boxed for the 3E, the 5E and the Toyota 7K, which share the thrust face rather than the engine. That shared box is worth knowing if endfloat is the only thing being chased, because the washer can be bought without the bearing sets.
What the Toyota 3E page does not carry
No gasket, timing or piston stock is filed under this code. A full rebuild needs those from the wider E series listings.
