The Volkswagen AXD is a 2.5 litre inline five turbo diesel, SOHC with 10 valves and unit injectors rather than common rail. Volkswagen built it from 2003 for the T5 Transporter and Multivan, and the same 2.5 five went into the Touareg. Head sealing hardware makes up half the 4 parts filed under the AXD, and every one is boxed with another code.
AXD head gasket and head bolts
The Victor Reinz head gasket is a multi layer steel item covering most of the 2.5 five cylinder range. The NVP head bolt set is listed for the AXD, AXE, BNZ, BAC, BPC and BPE. The AXE is the higher output version of the same engine, so the two share sealing and fastener numbers.
AXD conrod bearings
A TDC conrod bearing set is filed under Audi and listed for the AXD, AXE, BAC and BLJ. The AXD is a five cylinder engine, so a four cylinder 2.0 TDI set will not do the job even where the shell size looks close. No main bearing set is listed under the AXD here.
