Holden L98 Engine Parts

The Holden L98 is a 6.0 litre Gen IV pushrod V8, two valves per cylinder, naturally aspirated on multipoint fuel injection. Holden fitted it from 2006 to 2010 to the VE Commodore and the WM Statesman and Caprice. It shares bore and stroke with the LS2 but runs rectangle port heads and has no active fuel management.This page lists 22 parts for the L98.

L98 timing chain sets and camshafts

The L98 runs a timing chain, not a belt. Single row chain sets, a performance chain and a spring style tensioner are listed, plus a non AFM single bolt camshaft. The L98 cam is Gen IV single bolt; the three bolt cam and sprocket from the 5.7 litre LS1 will not go in, so check the sprocket before ordering either.

Genuine MLS head gaskets, a rectangle port VRS gasket set and a performance intake gasket set. The L98 heads share their port shape with the 6.2 litre LS3, so most of these gaskets are listed across both; the LS2 takes cathedral port parts.
