The BMW M62 is a naturally aspirated 32 valve V8 with double overhead cams and port injection, made from 1994 to 2005. Stock sits under the 3.5 litre M62B35, 4.4 litre M62B44 and 4.6 litre M62B46. Those codes cover the E38 7 Series, E39 5 Series and E53 X5. Victor Reinz supplies three of the 4 parts filed under the M62, and a conrod bearing set is the fourth.
M62 head gasket and gasket sets
The M62 runs a timing chain rather than a belt, so there is no belt kit filed under this code. The head gasket listed is the right hand side at 1.74mm, and the two banks are not interchangeable. Check the side and the thickness against what comes off, because BMW ran more than one grade. The VRS set is sold without head gaskets, and the lower gasket set is a separate line.
Conrod bearings and the rest of the M62 stock
The conrod bearing set is boxed for the M60 as well, the earlier 3.0 and 4.0 litre V8. Early M62 blocks were Nikasil lined and later ones Alusil, so check which you have before planning a rebore.
