Injectors are coded by build date

1KD injectors are listed by vehicle and by code, for example the N70 Hilux Code 11 and Code 18 units and the KDJ120 Prado Code 13, as singles and sets of four. The code changed during production, so go by your build date and the part number on the old injectors, not the model name alone. The N70 Hilux injector guide covers symptoms and replacement, and injector clamp bolts, seals and washers are listed for the refit.

Rebuilding a 1KD-FTV

Kits include pistons, rings, bearings and a full gasket set, with piston, main and conrod bearing sizes selectable from standard through oversize. The 1KD is a common rail engine and worth doing properly. If the block has been machined, order to the measured sizes and we will confirm before it ships. Individual parts are listed too, including KP full and lower gasket sets, FAST ceramic coated pistons with a modified bowl, inlet valves and balance shaft bearings. Timing belt and the rest of the engine

When the timing belt is due, replace the belt and the tensioner together. Dayco and genuine Toyota belts, a hydraulic tensioner and the tensioner bolt are listed, along with water pumps, the viscous fan hub, sump seals and common rail fuel pumps. What is in a 1KD rebuild kit?

A piston set, rings, main and conrod bearings and a full gasket set. You choose the piston and bearing sizes to match what the machine shop has done to the block and crank, and we go over those sizes with you before the kit is sent.

Is a 1KD the same as a 2KD?

No. The 2KD-FTV is the 2.5-litre version found in some Hilux and Hiace models. Some parts, such as balance shaft bearings, injector tube seals and the timing belt tensioner bolt, are shared and listed for both, but pistons, gasket sets and injectors are not. Check the code on the block.

How much is a 1KD rebuild kit?
