How much does a Ford Ranger tune cost and is it worth it?
Pricing depends on your engine, the level of tune and any supporting work your Ranger needs, so we provide a quote once we know your variant and goals. The value is in the result: a properly written, dyno-verified custom tune improves real-world drivability, throttle response and towing performance, and is tailored to how you actually use the truck. Get in touch with the details of your Ranger and we’ll give you an honest assessment.
Will tuning my Ranger void my factory warranty?
If your Ranger is still within the Ford warranty period, any modification to the factory ECU can affect warranty cover on related components, so it’s worth weighing that up before proceeding. We’re happy to talk through your situation, what is and isn’t affected, and the best approach for a vehicle still under warranty versus one that is out of warranty.
Can you delete or turn off the DPF, EGR or AdBlue system?
Emissions-control hardware such as the DPF, EGR and the AdBlue/SCR system fitted to Euro 6 and Next-Gen Rangers is required by law on vehicles used on public roads in Australia, and tampering with it carries real legal and roadworthy consequences. Our focus is on keeping these systems working correctly through proper diagnosis, cleaning and repair, and on tuning that works with the emissions hardware rather than removing it.
What power gains can I expect from a Ford Ranger tune?
Gains vary considerably between the 2.2, 3.2 P5AT, 2.0 Bi-Turbo and 3.0 V6, and they depend on your hardware and the headroom we can safely use. Rather than quote a number we can’t stand behind, every tune is developed on our dyno for your specific vehicle, with the priority being reliable, usable power and torque across the rev range. You’ll get a verified before-and-after, not a guess.
Which Ranger engines and years do you tune and service?
We cover the full Australian Ranger diesel range: the 2.2-litre four-cylinder and the 3.2-litre P5AT five-cylinder from the PX to PX3 generations, plus the Next-Gen 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo EcoBlue with the 10-speed auto and the 3.0-litre V6 Power Stroke in the diesel Wildtrak, Sport and Platinum. If you’re unsure exactly which engine and build you have, send us your details and we’ll confirm.
How do I book and how long does the work take?
You can book by contacting either of our workshops, Oxley in Brisbane or Warana on the Sunshine Coast. A standard service is usually a same-day job, while custom dyno tuning typically takes longer because of the data-logging and refinement involved, and diagnostic or repair work depends on what we find. We’ll give you a clear timeframe when you book so you can plan around it.
