DPF and non-DPF injectors differ
The DPF and non-DPF 4JJ1 take different injectors, and they are listed separately: the DPF injector for 2016 to 2020 engines and the non-DPF set for 2012 to 2016. They are not interchangeable, so confirm the build date before ordering. Our 4JJ1 injector guide covers the signs of worn injectors.
Early and late engine parts
Within the 4JJ1 there are early and late versions of the rebuild kit, gasket sets, timing chain tensioner and rocker cover gasket, and the late rebuild kit includes timing parts. Fuel and air on a working 4JJ1
A pre-filter in front of the factory filter catches water and dirt before they reach the pump and injectors, which is sensible protection on a ute that fuels up in remote places. The pre and post fuel filter kits include D-Max and MU-X versions. For towing, an upgraded intercooler keeps intake temperatures down.

Do these parts fit the Holden Colorado?
Many 4JJ1 engine parts are shared with the Holden Colorado RC and Rodeo, which ran the same engine, and those titles name Holden. The DPF-era D-Max came after those Holdens, so check injector and exhaust listings against your build date.
How much is a 4JJ1 rebuild kit?
The early kit starts at $1,780.60 and the late kit with timing starts at $1,780.60. Both come with pistons, rings, bearings and gaskets, and the price depends on the sizes you choose.
Is there an injector fit set for the later 4JJ1?
Yes. The fit set for the 4JJ1 from 10/2012 is $365.00. Earlier engines take a different set.
