A VRS (valve regrind set) covers the top end for a head job; a full gasket set adds the bottom-end gaskets and seals for a complete rebuild.

Multi-layer steel (MLS) head gaskets handle higher cylinder pressures and are preferred on tuned and high-boost diesels; composite suits many stock applications.
