Injectors, pump and fuel filtration
The 4N15 runs Denso common rail injection. We list a Denso injector and a Denso high pressure pump for the MQ Triton. If you are chasing a fault rather than replacing parts on age, have the injectors tested first; injector testing costs far less than a set you did not need.
Common rail pumps and injectors do not tolerate water or dirt in the fuel. A pre-filter ahead of the factory filter is cheap protection, and kits for the Triton and Pajero Sport are in pre and post filter kits. Getting DPF warnings as well? Read our 4N15 DPF article before you buy parts.
Timing chain and top end
The 4N15 runs a timing chain, not a belt. Two timing chain sets are listed: one made up entirely of genuine Mitsubishi parts, and an NVP aftermarket set. For head work there is a genuine full gasket set, an NVP VRS gasket set and an NVP head bolt set in gaskets and seals. Head gaskets for this engine come in notch grades, covered in the questions below.
Pistons, bearings and the rest
Yenmak piston and ring sets and ACL main and conrod bearing sets cover the bottom end of the common rail turbo engine. Pistons and bearings are sized to the machine shop's figures, and our sizes page explains what to send.
A cooling hose set and a pair of genuine seals are listed too, the oil pump drive shaft seal and the fuel pump O-ring, both shared with the 4D56.
4N15 FAQs
Which head gasket notch does a 4N15 need?
That depends on piston protrusion, measured on the assembled bottom end. The genuine full gasket set here comes with the 1 notch gasket, which is one grade, not the answer for every block. Measure first, or send us your machine shop's figures and we will confirm the grade.
Do new 4N15 injectors need coding to the ECU?
Replacement common rail injectors usually need their correction code programmed into the ECU when they are fitted, so allow for that whoever does the job. Send us your build date and we will confirm the right injector before you order.
Is there a timing chain set for the 4N15?
The 4N15 timing chain set made up of O.E. parts is $635.00.
Do you list exhausts for the Pajero Sport?
Yes. Manta turbo-back systems for the QE, QF and QG Pajero Sport from 2015 to 2024 are listed with and without a cat and muffler. The version with cat and muffler is $2,785.73, and freight is one flat Manta rate to anywhere in Australia.
