Under the KP name we list engine gaskets: full gasket sets, VRS sets, lower sets, head gaskets and rocker cover gaskets. Coverage leans toward Japanese engines, including the Nissan Patrol TB42, TB45, TB48 and ZD30DI, the Toyota 1HD-T, 1KZ-TE, 1KD and 3L, the Mitsubishi 4M41 and V6s and the Isuzu 4ZE1, plus Mazda, Honda and Subaru petrol fours.

Diesel head gaskets and protrusion
On many diesels the head gasket is made in more than one thickness, and the right one is chosen from piston protrusion, measured once the block has been decked and the pistons fitted. That measurement has to come before the head gasket order. Ask your machinist for the protrusion figure, or send it to us and we will match the gasket to it.
Early and late versions
Engines change during production, and KP lists the versions separately where the gaskets differ. The Mitsubishi 4M41 common-rail sets are marked as the late version, the Toyota 1HD-T VRS set is for the 12 valve engine, and the 2UZ-FE VRS set is for the VVT engine. Check your engine code and build date against the title before ordering.
The work around a gasket set
A gasket set is one part of a head job. The head and block faces need checking for flatness before anything goes back together, and on a diesel the injector seals are worth replacing while the injectors are out. Head bolts, bearings and rings are under engine internals. For engines KP does not list, Permaseal, Victor Reinz and the wider gaskets and seals category are the next places to look.
KP gasket FAQs
Does a KP full gasket set include the head gasket?
Usually. A few full sets are sold without one so the head gasket can be bought to a measured thickness, and the title says so when it is left out, as on the Toyota 3L and 5L full set. If you are unsure what a set contains, ask us before ordering.
What is in a KP VRS set?
The top end of the engine. The 4M41 common rail late set, for example, has an MLS high output head gasket, steel formed laminated gaskets, NOK valve stem seals, and a rubber rocker cover gasket and O-rings. It is $437.20.
What is in a KP full gasket set?
Every gasket for the engine. The TB48 set at $585.00 has an MLS head gasket, laminated gaskets, NOK crank, auxiliary and camshaft seals, valve stem seals, rubber rocker cover and intake gaskets, O-rings and the OE rear main seal.
