Description

Genuine Bosch CP3 high-pressure common-rail fuel pump for the Nissan Patrol ZD30 3.0L common-rail. This is the OE supply pump (part no. 0445010136) that generates the high rail pressure feeding the injectors — a worn pump can’t hold pressure under load, making it a common cause of starting and power complaints on these engines.

Fitment

  • Nissan Patrol ZD30 3.0L (common-rail)

Which ZD30 do you have? DI vs CRD

Nissan fitted two completely different injection pumps across the ZD30’s life, and owners are often quoted the wrong one. Direct-injection (DI) engines run a Bosch VP44 electronic rotary pump on the timing case. The later common-rail (CRD) engines run the Bosch CP3 pump that this listing supplies.

When to replace

  • Hard starting or extended cranking
  • Power loss or limp mode under load
  • Rough idle, stalling or hesitation
  • Low rail-pressure fault codes (e.g. P0087) and excessive smoke
  • Hard starting when hot that improves once the engine cools
  • Rail-pressure codes P0087 or P1272 with power fade on hills or under tow

Supplied and backed by Willys Workshop — diesel specialists in Brisbane & the Sunshine Coast. These pumps are vehicle-specific: please include your rego or VIN when ordering and our team will confirm the correct unit.

How to test a ZD30 injector pump before you buy

A high-pressure pump is too dear to replace on a guess. With a scan tool, compare commanded against actual rail pressure at idle and again under load; a healthy CP3 holds target, a worn one falls away as demand rises. Check cranking rail pressure on a hard-start complaint, and test the suction control valve (SCV) before condemning the pump, a sticking SCV mimics pump failure. Rule out the basics first: a blocked fuel filter, a restricted pickup or excessive injector leak-back all starve rail pressure. One warning: a failing pump can shed metal through the rail and injectors. If you find contamination, budget for a ZD30 injector set and a rail flush at the same time, or the new pump inherits the old pump’s debris. Our team runs these diesel injector and pump tests in-house at Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, and our ZD30 injector and pump cost and symptoms guide covers the full diagnosis.

New, exchange or rebuilt: your supply options

  • New genuine Bosch (this listing): $1,873 with no core deposit, backed by 12 months or 20,000 km warranty. This is the floor for a genuine new unit; exchange programs elsewhere land at similar money plus a core deposit of around $550.
  • Exchange or reconditioned: can look cheaper upfront, but core charges and freight both ways usually close the gap, and quality varies with the rebuilder.
  • Aftermarket copies: cheaper again, but not genuine Bosch and lifespan is mixed. On a pump that controls the whole fuel system, that gamble is rarely worth it.
  • Supplied and fitted: we fit and test ZD30 pumps at Oxley in Brisbane and Warana on the Sunshine Coast as part of our Nissan Patrol tuning and servicing. Text us your rego for a fitted quote.

Worth replacing at the same time

While the pump is off, the cheap insurance items are the injector pump mount gasket and the fuel pump adapter plate o-ring, plus a fresh fuel filter. If testing found contamination, add ZD30 injectors (or the full set above) so the new pump feeds a clean system.

ZD30 injector pump FAQs

What are the symptoms of a failing ZD30 injector pump?

Hard or extended cranking, power loss or limp mode under load, rough idle and stalling, low rail-pressure codes such as P0087 or P1272, and excessive smoke. Hot-start trouble that improves cold is a classic CP3 wear pattern.

How much does a ZD30 injector pump cost in Australia?

A genuine new Bosch CP3 is $1,873 at Willys Workshop with no core deposit, and that is the realistic floor for a genuine new unit. Exchange and rebuilt options elsewhere typically add core deposits around $550, and aftermarket copies are cheaper but are not genuine Bosch.

Is the ZD30 DI pump the same as the CRD pump?

No. The DI engine (roughly 2000 to 2006) uses a Bosch VP44 electronic rotary pump, while the CRD engine (2007 on) uses the Bosch CP3 common-rail pump on this page. The two do not interchange, so confirm your engine before ordering.

Can I keep driving with a failing high pressure pump?

Short trips in limp mode will usually get you home, but a pump that is wearing internally can shed metal into the rail and injectors, turning a pump job into a full fuel-system job. Get it tested promptly.

Do the injectors need replacing with the pump?

Only if the fuel system shows contamination. Test first: if the fuel is clean, replace the pump alone; if there is metal in the system, do the injectors and flush the rail in the same job.

Can Willys Workshop fit the pump?

Yes. We supply, fit, code and road-test at both workshops, Oxley in Brisbane and Warana on the Sunshine Coast, and we can test your existing pump first if you are not sure it is the culprit.
